There’s not a lot we don’t already know about the Galaxy S5 Active thanks to recent leaks, but the new device has today been made official and available to order by AT&T. It’s essentially an original Galaxy S5 packed into a more robust form factor — but it does boast a couple of new features that its flagship sibling doesn’t offer.

Sony-Xperia-Z2

All the high-end Android smartphones released in the last six months or so have the ability to record videos in 4K resolution. Considering that 4K content and display are still a rarity, having this feature on your $800 smartphone is a biggie.

As it turns out though, there is a slight catch. None of them can record 4K videos at a stretch for more than 5 mins. This includes the Xperia Z2 and the Galaxy S5 as well as last year’s Galaxy Note 3.

HTC-One-M8-back

HTC is offering up another awesome deal on its latest flagship by reducing its price to just $99 when you take out a new two-year contract. The offer applies to the Amber Gold One M8, and it’s available for today only.

Sunrise-Android

Truly gorgeous Android apps used to be few and far between, but in recent years, Google Play has seen more and more of them. The latest is Sunrise, a wonderful calendar app that has already made a name for itself on iOS thanks to its innovative design and impressive feature set.

Last night, LG unveiled its flagship handset for 2014 — the LG G3. When it finally hits the shelves later next month, the G3 is bound to battle it out against the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S5, HTC One M8 and the Xperia Z2 for the best smartphone of the year crown.

Compared to its competition, the G3 does have some unique and innovative features up it sleeves that makes it the number one contender for the best smartphone of this year including a sexy design, the relative lack of bezel around its display and wireless charging.
