Uber, the app-based alternative to traditional taxi services, is reportedly considering switching its drivers from iPhones to Samsung-manufactured Android handsets.

Uber has previously purchased tens of thousands of iPhones, which are used for receiving and tracking rides. Although customers can use Uber on either an iOS or Android handset, the drivers’ systems runs only on iOS.

LG is currently in the midst of rolling out the much-anticipated Android 4.4.2 KitKat over-the-air (OTA) update to all models of its flagship smartphone, the G2, currently located in Canada. In terms of added functionality, the upgrade brings Android 4.4.2 KitKat and Knock Code to the handset, complete with the usual plethora of bug fixes, speed optimizations and stability improvements that we’ve grown to expect from any major software update.

In a barrage of HTC One (M8) announcements, the company also quietly announced that it plans on bringing BlinkFeed to all other Android device sometime soon via the Play Store. The company has also opened up BlinkFeed to developers allowing them to add their own content sources and custom feed views.
