After unveiling a series of new devices at CES in Las Vegas just over two weeks ago, ASUS has now quietly launched a new Padfone variant in Taiwan. Named the Padfone E, the mid-range smartphone/tablet hybrid slots right between the Padfone Mini and Padfone X with regards to internals, however, unlike the other variants, the E is available to purchase in two colors — Johnnie Walker Black and Pearl White.

The demand for 4G LTE connectivity has never been greater, so, consequently, operators are pulling out all the stops to try to fulfil the extremely high demand and Sprint Corporation is no exception. In an effort to keep up with its competitors, Sprint announced this morning that it has launched its high-speed 4G LTE data in an additional 40 locations across the United States, bumping its networks total number of nationwide markets up to 340.

Later on today, Motorola will be holding a flash sale on its Moto X, slashing a whopping $100 off the usual price. The promotion will only run for one hour — from 3pm to 4pm Eastern Time — so in order to bag yourself the handset for just £299 you will need to move like a whippet.

Samsung is currently rolling out the much-anticipated Android 4.4.2 KitKat update to all International models of its flagship smartphone, the Galaxy Note 3, located in India, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and South Korea. This rather hefty upgrade carries build number KOT49H and is a fairly major bump up from Android 4.3, it brings a mass of new functionality, together with the usual multitude of bug fixes, stability improvements and speed optimizations.

Sony-Xperia-Z1-Compact

Just two weeks ago, Sony unveiled the Xperia Z1 Compact as a scaled down variant of its current flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z1, at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, and now the handset is available to buy in Sweden for €520 from various independent retailers.
