HTC is currently rolling out the much-anticipated Android 4.4.2 KitKat over-the-air (OTA) update to all unlocked models of its flagship phablet, the One Max, in Europe. In terms of functionality, the upgrade brings Android 4.4.2 KitKat and Sense 5.5 to the device, complete with the usual plethora of bug fixes, speed optimizations and stability improvements that we’ve grown to expect from any major software update.

HTC’s much-anticipated flagship smartphone of 2014, the ‘All New’ HTC One (M8) is scheduled to be unveiled later on today at a press conference in London, and thanks to Canadian carrier, Rogers, we now know a little bit more about the device prelaunch, than we bargained for. Earlier today, the operator prematurely published a ‘Buy Now’ page on its website, detailing the full specifications and pricing for this eagerly awaited handset. Samsung unveiled its ultra-portable Galaxy Tab 3 variant, the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0, back in June, 2013, and a month later the device was available to purchase in the U.S. from several retailers for $299. Two weeks ago, a well-known and trusted leaker announced on his social networking sites that Sony’s latest mid-range phablet, the Xperia T2 Ultra, is set to launch on T-Mobile in the United States later this year, and earlier today an FCC filing has been brought to our attention, confirming that the forthcoming handset is, indeed, compatible with T-Mobile’s LTE bands in the U.S.

Google officially updated its Play Store support page earlier today by notifying consumers that it has just launched its Play Store gift cards in Austria, as it continues on its quest to expand its worldwide availability with €15, €25 and €50 denominations.
