Samsung unveiled its ultra-portable Galaxy Tab 3 variant, the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0, back in June, 2013, and a month later the device was available to purchase in the U.S. from several retailers for $299. The Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 packs a 8-inch TFT multitouch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 800 x 1280 pixels, an Exynos 4212 chipset powered by two 1.5GHz CPU’s, a Mali-400MP GPU, 1.5GB of DDR3 RAM, 16GB of internal storage (expandable up to 64GB via microSD), a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 1.2-megapixel front-facing shooter and a 4,450 mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery.

The handset ships running the latest build of Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean skinned with Samsung’s custom TouchWiz user interface, which Samsung claims is the “easier way to use your device, giving you intuitive control over everyday tasks.”
