Microsoft details big Office updates coming to mobile this month

Microsoft has some big improvements planned for its mobile Office apps that will roll out to everyone this month.

Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint will all see changes on Android and iOS. Here’s what you have to look forward to.

After abandoning its own Windows Mobile platform last October, Microsoft has been dedicating to ensuring its Android and iOS apps provide the best possible user experience. That’s why we get regular updates with big improvements and fixes.

The latest for Office will arrive on Android and iOS this month.

Office improvements incoming

On both platforms, Microsoft is giving Word users the ability to see their word count as they scroll through a document. It’s always in view at the bottom of the screen so that you don’t have to hunt for it in the menus.

Android and iOS users are also getting the ability to sync draft messages across all devices in Outlook. Emails you start on your desktop can be finished on your tablet or desktop, and vice-versa.

Outlook users on Android are also getting the ability to delete contacts in their address book, as well as a Do Not Disturb feature that lets you disable notifications for specific periods of time.

Finally, PowerPoint on Android is getting a landscape view so that you can finally edit your presentations sideways.

Look out for updates this month

These improvements will be included in Office version 2.15 on iOS and build 16.0.10325.20043 on Android, which will be rolling out this month. Look out for them in the App Store and Google Play.
