HTC’s One M10 will have a hard time competing with rivals from Apple and Samsung in 2016, but it stands a chance if it looks this good.

This mockup, based on the leaked image of the One M10 we’ve already seen, suggests it could be one of the prettiest smartphones of the year.

Although this isn’t an official render, it could well be close to the real deal. The front of the device is based on a recent leak from the reliable Evan Blass (@evleaks), while the back is a blend of last year’s One M9 and the more recent One A9.

Looks aren’t everything, of course — but they mean a lot to most of us. If HTC can combine a design like this with great specifications, it could finally have a chance of mounting a real threat against competing devices.

According to recent rumors, the One M10 will have a 5.2-inch Quad HD display, a Snapdragon 820 processor, and a 12-megapixel UltraPixel camera on its back. It will also have a physical home button with a fingerprint scanner — like the One A9.

There is one thing that could give the One M10 a big disadvantage, though. According to the tweet below from Blass, the device won’t go on sale in the U.S. until May 9 — a whole two months after Samsung launches the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge.
