OnePlus has announced that its new OnePlus X will be available without an invite every Tuesday, starting tomorrow. Starting at just $249, this is the most affordable device in the OnePlus lineup — yet it many ways it’s also the best.

The OnePlus X is smaller than the flagship OnePlus 2 with its 5-inch display, but it boasts the same 1080p resolution. It also has a prettier, more premium form factor made of metal and glass, a microSD card slot, micro-USB connectivity, and it comes bundled with a free case.

The OnePlus X is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.3GHz, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera.

Unlike the OnePlus 2, which is now invite-free forever, the OnePlus X is only available without an invite on Tuesdays. The first open sale starts tomorrow, and then you’ll get another chance to buy one every single week.

This is a great move right before the holidays, because at just $249, the OnePlus X could be an ideal gift. We’ve been using one in the Cult of Android office for several weeks now, and we couldn’t be more impressed with it — it’s by far the nicest midrange device on the market.
