Sony is hard at work on new Marshmallow software that will bring an improved user experience to its many Xperia smartphones and tablets. You can apply to test the concept software early right now on your Xperia Z3 or Xperia Z3 Compact — but you’ll have to act fast.

Sony’s new software is an ideal take on Android; it’s almost pure Marshmallow — exactly as Google intended it — but with some (not too many) Sony apps and features neatly baked in. It’s going to greatly improve your experience on Sony devices, and a small few can test it early.

Sony is inviting more testers to try its concept software while it is still in development. It will be “rolling out gradually over the coming weeks” to those who are selected, Sony says, and you can apply now to get one of the last spaces still available.

To do so, simply open up Google Play on your Xperia Z3 or Xperia Z3 Compact, and download the Sony Concept for Android app. Then open it up, tap the “Sign Up” button, and fill out the form. If you’re lucky, you’ll get to test Sony’s take on Marshmallow earlier than everyone else.
