Google’s latest Android Wear update finally enables Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing your smartwatch to communicate with your phone even when it’s out of Bluetooth range. But not all Wear watches have Wi-Fi built-in.

Users of the LG G Watch and the Asus ZenWatch are among those who are out of luck.

“According to representatives from each company, both the LG G Watch and the Asus ZenWatch are going to miss out,” TechRadar reports.

LG’s more recent watches — the G Watch R and the Watch Urbane — are equipped with Wi-Fi modules. But the original G Watch, which was one of the first Android Wear watches on the market, along with Samsung’s Gear Live, does not.

It’s thought the rest of the Android Wear lineup will get Wi-Fi connectivity, including the Moto 360 and the SmartWatch 3 — which have already been confirmed compatible by Motorola and Sony.

Google’s new Android Wear update will come pre-installed on the LG Watch Urbane, while the G Watch R will be the first existing Wear watch to get it over-the-air. The rest of the Wear lineup is expected to get it in the coming weeks.
