It’s been more than six months since Sony announced its Xperia Z3, which means a new version must be right around the corner. And thanks to the leaked image above, we already know what it’s going to look like.

The image was published by @OnLeaks, a reliable source, and it confirms the Xperia Z4 will look almost identical to its predecessor… and every other Xperia Z smartphone that came before it. But for fans of the series, that’s not exactly a bad thing.

The only thing that really stands out in this image — that all but confirms it is indeed a new Sony device — is the software; the screenshot shows the latest Google Play logo, and new Lollipop-style on-screen buttons for home, back, and recent apps.

According to previous rumors, the Xperia Z4 will pack Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 810 processor, a 20.7-megapixel camera, and a large 3,400mAh battery. It’s also expected to launch with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop pre-installed.

It’s unclear when the Xperia Z4 will make its public debut; we had expected it to arrive by now, but manufacturing issues with the Snapdragon 810 — which have reportedly delayed the OnePlus 2 — could well be holding back its launch.
