MultiROM, the popular tool for Android devices that allows users to install and boot between multiple ROMs, is now available for the Nexus 6, making it easy to switch between Google’s stock software, CyanogenMod, Paranoid Android, or another ROM of your choice on the fly.

There are so many excellent custom ROMs to choose from these days that it’s not uncommon for some Android users to flash different firmwares multiple times a week. Maybe one day you want to take advantage of the extra features offered by a ROM like Paranoid Android, and another day you want the simplicity and purity of stock Android.

Until now, this has required storing multiple ROMs on your microSD card or internal storage, then flashing the one you wish to use through a custom recovery before you want to use it. It’s a process that takes a lot of time and effort and wipes your data every time, so it’s not ideal.

But with MultiROM, you can install all of your favorite ROMs — as many as you like — then simply boot between them as and when you wish. Your data is shared across each one so you don’t need to start from scratch each time, and once it’s set up, it requires very little effort.

MultiROM has been around a while now, but it’s far from perfect. Its creator describes it as “one giant hack,” and warns that while it no longer alters data partitions and boot sectors — making bricks unlikely — it can still wipe your data if something goes wrong.

With that said, you should be sure to backup before setting it up, and bear in mind that it may not work perfectly. If it does, the benefits far outweigh the risks for many.

If that doesn’t put you off, then, you’ll find the downloads you need and the installation instructions in the original XDA Developers thread via the source link below.
