Get $50 Play Store credit with a Nexus 6 on Sprint this Black Friday
While it’s still too early to find any decent reductions on the Nexus 6 for Black Friday — it has only been on sale for a few weeks — you could get $50 in Google Play Store credit if you buy the device from Sprint. The promotion will run over the Thanksgiving weekend, starting Friday, November 28, according to a leaked Sprint document.
Distributed internally to Sprint staff, the memo obtained by Android Police reads, “Google is funding this credit for new and existing Consumer/Biz IL customers purchasing a Nexus 6 between Black Friday and Cyber Monday.”
You won’t get the $50 credit right away; it will be sent to you via a text message once you have activated your new handset. You will then have until January 31, 2015, to add it to your Play Store account, and until January 31, 2016, to spend it. The promotional will be available in-store and online, and only with the Nexus 6.
It’s unclear if other carriers will be offering similar promotions this weekend, but it seems like this one’s a Sprint exclusive for now. And given that Nexus 6 units have been selling faster than Motorola can make them since the handset made its debut, deals like this are likely to be few and far between for a little while.
