Both the first- and second-generation Nexus 7s and the Nexus 10 are to get an Android 5.0 Lollipop update on November 3 — the same day the software debuts on the new Nexus 9 — according to sources familiar with Google’s plans. The search giant appears to be focusing on Wi-Fi only devices first, before bringing Lollipop to the Nexus 4 and the Nexus 5.

“We have a reliable source (two, in fact) telling us that the first over-the-air updates to Android Lollipop will come not to the Nexus 4 or 5, but to the Nexus 7 (2012), Nexus 7 (2013 Wi-Fi), and Nexus 10,” Android Police reports. “Why? Because they’re all Wi-Fi devices.”

Anything with a cellular radio inside it will have to wait, then, which means if you have a Nexus 7 with LTE connectivity, you’ll have to hold on, too. Google usually gets its updates out pretty quickly, however, so it shouldn’t be too long before you’re enjoying all the sweetness Lollipop has to offer.

In addition to that stunning Material Design overhaul, Lollipop brings your Android devices closer to together, displays notifications on your lock screen, improves battery life, and makes your smartphone and tablet more secure than ever before. There’s no doubt about it — it’ll be well worth the wait.
