LG has today confirmed rumors that it will be launching the new G Watch R next week, but before you get too excited, you should know that you won’t be able to buy one yet… unless you live in South Korea.

As expected, the G Watch R will initially be available in LG’s home country only, and it’s thought that just one retailer will be offering it for the first week. After that, however, it should be much easier to get hold of, but you’ll likely still be waiting if you live in Europe, North America, or anywhere else but South Korea.

LG is yet to confirm when it will launch the G Watch R in international markets, but we don’t expect the company to keep us waiting too long. It’s now been a month since the device got its initial unveiling at IFA 2014 in Berlin, and LG will want to make it available as quickly as possible to compete with the Moto 360.

After all, it’s the Moto 360 that the G Watch R was designed to compete against, which is why it’s just as high-end, sporting a metal chassis and a calf skin leather strap. It’s also similar internally, with the same Snapdragon 400 chip, 512MB of RAM, and IP67 certificate for water resistance.
