While the new Apple Watch may deliver a few features that might make Google and its Android Wear partners a little shaky, its $350 price tag certainly won’t be one of them. Every Android Wear watch we’ve seen so far has been considerably more affordable, and Google has this week make the gap even greater by making the LG G Watch just $179 through Google Play.

That’s $50 off the original retail price, but the price won’t stay this low forever. Google says it’s a limited-time offer that will end on September 23, but with the Moto 360 and the G Watch R right around the corner, you can almost certainly expect to see more discounts like this on the G Watch leading up to Christmas.

The G Watch launched alongside Samsung’s Gear Live back in July and became one of the first Android Wear wearables. It features an always-on display, a dust- and water-resistant form factor, and a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage.

The G Watch certainly isn’t considered the finest Android Wear watch available, but at just $179, it’s definitely not a bad buy. This price is only available in the U.S. for now, but those in the U.K. and Europe can still get £60 off when they buy a G Watch and a Nexus 5 together.
