Hey, nerds! You can pick up girls in the park with an Asus PadFone X (says AT&T)

PadFone-X-girl

You could have the cheesiest chat-up lines in the world and they’re still likely to be more successful than showing a lady your new smartphone. But that’s all changed (according to AT&T), thanks to the Asus PadFone X — a phone that transforms into a tablet to help you pick up girls in the park.

“Get the girl with the Asus PadFone X.” That’s the tagline for AT&T’s corny new commercial, which promises that pretty strangers in the park are a guaranteed catch with the right phone. So, if you usually get doused with mace or they just run away screaming for help, you’ll want to see the video below.

Any phone that transforms into a tablet — and soon into a laptop as well — in just a few seconds is pretty impressive. And it has some nice internals, too. In addition to a 5-inch 1080p display, there’s a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, 16GB of internal storage, and a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor.

But I don’t think I’ve ever met a single person who wanted to be my friend — let alone my date — because I have a snazzy smartphone. Have you?
