Samsung’s Black Galaxy S4 & Galaxy S4 Mini Coming To New Markets This Month

Samsung’s new black Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S4 mini — which made an early appearance in Russia late last month — is coming to select markets later this month, the South Korean company has confirmed.

The handsets are identical to the originals on the inside, but they’ve been given a new lick of paint and a “leather-like textured black back cover and bezel” just like the Galaxy Note 3’s.

Samsung hasn’t confirmed exactly where the black handsets will be available yet, but given they’ve already popped up in Russia, it seems most likely that they’ll be reaching other European countries, too. Hopefully, the devices will continue to expand their reach over the coming weeks and months.

Unlike the originals, the new black handsets aren’t just a different color, but they have faux-leather back panels like the Galaxy Note 3’s. Most consider this panel to be a huge improvement over the Galaxy S4’s regular plastic back, which feels cheap and flimsy and loves to pick up greasy fingerprints.

Unsurprisingly, then, a lot of Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S4 mini fans seem excited about the design changes. But with the Galaxy S5 expected to arrive at MWC later this month, will anyone want one?
