Dropbox For Android Adds Automatic Photo And Video Uploading In Latest Update

The Dropbox beta build from earlier in the month is out of testing and now available in the Android Market. You’ll now have the ability to automatically upload your photos and videos to your Dropbox account should you want to. Other features include:

  • Up to 3 GB of free space for uploading photos automatically (in 500 MB increments)
  • Upload files of any size
  • Various performance improvements & bug fixes

Another important thing to note: Dropbox can no longer be installed on your SD Card due to more secure credential storage. So if you’re short on internal storage you may want to skip this update. Having the automatic upload is a nice convenience but comes with the pitfalls of battery consumption and data consumption (when not on Wi-Fi).
