Samsung Gives New & Existing Galaxy Note 3 Owners $50 Google Play Credit

It’s a great day to be a Galaxy Note 3 owner (in the United States), because Samsung has announced that it is giving new and existing owners $50 Google Play credit for absolutely nothing. All you need to do is hand over your name and contact details, and your handset’s IMEI number.

Customers have until January 6 to take advantage of the offer, and the credit can be spent on anything in Google Play — including apps and games, TV shows and movies, books and magazines, and music. It’s exclusive to those residing in the U.S., however.

Android Central reports that even if you give a fake address and telephone number, you won’t be able to complete the redemption process with an international IMEI number.

This is disappointing for Galaxy Note 3 owners outside of the U.S., of course, but hopefully Samsung will have some goodies to send our way soon. If you live in the U.K. and you bought your handset from the right place, you will have already gotten a free Galaxy Gear smartwatch with it.
