Following the launch of the new Moto G earlier today, Verizon has confirmed that it will be offering the device on prepaid plans in early 2014.

“Stay tuned: Moto G with 4.5-inch edge-to-edge display coming to Verizon,” the company announced on Twitter. “Available on prepaid in early Q114.”

Although we don’t have a specific release date or pricing yet, Motorola said that we could expect to see the Moto G in the U.S. in January. It also said that pricing for the unlocked handset would be $179 for the 8GB model, and $199 for the 16GB model.

The Moto G offers a 4.5-inch 720p display, a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, and a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera. It doesn’t have LTE connectivity, a removable battery, or a microSD card slot, however.
