Google Launches Nexus 5 With Android 4.4 KitKat

Nexus-5

The wait is finally over — the new Nexus 5 with Android 4.4 KitKat is now available to order through Google Play. The device is a lot like LG’s flagship G2 on the inside, featuring a 4.95-inch 1080p display, LTE connectivity, and a speedy Snapdragon 800 processor. It’s a heck of a lot cheaper, though, with prices starting at $349.

We’re already pretty familiar with the Nexus 5, of course, because it’s been leaked countless times in recent weeks. But here’s official confirmation of its specifications:

  • Android 4.4 KitKat
  • 4.95-inch 1080p display with 445 pixels-per-inch
  • 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor
  • Adreno 330 graphics
  • Wireless charging
  • LTE
  • 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with optical image stabilization
  • 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera
  • 2,300 mAh battery

The Nexus 5 is available in black and white, and prices start at $349 for the 16GB model. There’s also a 32GB model at $399. You can order it today through Google Play, but it’s likely to sell out quickly, so you may want to hurry. It’s available in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Australia, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Japan, and Korea.
