Android 4.3 Now Rolling Out To Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE (GT-I9505)

S4-Android-4.3-SM-EDIT

Samsung has today begun rolling out its latest Android 4.3 software update to the Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE (GT-I9505). Most of the changes and improvements in this release are under the hood, so users should notice an increase in speed and better performance, as well as improved stability.

You will notice some changes on the surface, though, including new camera firmware, a new Samsung keyboard and browser, and a new “reading mode” that optimizes the display for reading in certain apps. Samsung doesn’t provide us with change logs for its software updates, but SamMobile has put together its own for the Android 4.3 update:

CHANGES AND IMPROVEMENTS IN ANDROID 4.3 UPDATE
– OpenGL 3.0 Support
– TRIM Support (Makes the device much faster)
– ANT+ Support
– Samsung KNOX Implementation (KNOX bootloader and dedicated application)
– Samsung Wallet comes pre-loaded
– Improved RAM management
– Improved Display colour reproduction (Display looks much sharper than before)
– Improved TouchWiz Launcher (Much less launcher redraws and less lag)
– New Samsung Keyboard
– New Samsung Browser (Full screen by default, new tab interface and more)
– New Reading Mode (Optimises display for reading, used by only a few specific applications)
– New Camera firmware
– Minor UI tweaks (Contacts app, Flashlight Widget, dialog boxes etc)

Like most of Samsung’s Android updates, this one’s being rolled out in phases, and it’s hitting devices in Germany first. It will be available to download over-the-air, so look out for a notification in the coming weeks. Those with carrier-branded devices may have to wait a little longer for the update to gain approval.
