HTC One Developer Edition To Get Android 4.3 Update This Month

HTC has confirmed that the latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean software will be available for the HTC One Developer Edition by the end of this month. Given that there are now just five days left in September, I think it’s pretty safe to say we may well see the update — which delivers “the latest Sense experience” — this week.

“Good news,” announced Jason Mackenzie, HTC’s president of global sales, in a message on Twitter. “The latest Sense experience & Android 4.3 will push to One Dev Edition owners this week & One customers in Canada by month end.”

There’s no word on when the unlocked HTC One will receive the same update in the United States, but we expect it to land at around the same time. HTC has already confirmed that users in the U.S. will see the update first — before those on the other side of the Atlantic.

In addition to the regular Android 4.3 improvements — such as notification toggles — this update will make improvements to Sense 5 on the HTC One, but it’s unclear exactly how big they will be. It’s still Sense 5.0, though, so don’t expect anything too major just yet.
