Google has today released a new update for Google Play Music on Android which adds a new Genre Radio feature to All Access, its subscription-based music streaming service. Simply pick your favorite genre and Play Music will provide you with an unlimited number of tracks.

To access Genre Radio, tap either “Radio” or “Explore” in Play Music’s pop-out navigation pane and then swipe over to the genres tab on the left. You can then select anything from blues to folk, country to jazz, metal to pop, and many, many more.

Many of these genres also has subgenres; for example, selecting pop won’t just play you pop music straight away — it will ask whether you want to listen to pop from the ’50s all the way up to the ’00s, or adult contemporary pop, J-Pop, K-Pop, and teen pop.

Each genre also has some features stations, which include things like best new tracks, key tracks, and stations based on artists in that genre.

You’ll need a Google Play Music All Access subscription at $9.99 per month to enjoy Genre Radio, but this new feature — which is great for discovering new music you may not have stumbled across — makes it all the more worth it. You can sign up from within the Play Music app, which is a free download from Google Play.
