Twitter Finally Made A Proper Tablet App For Android — Download A Leaked Version Now

Twitter should have released a proper tablet app for Android several years ago, but we’ve been forced to use a blown-up version of the mobile client instead. But not anymore. Believe it or not, the company has (slowly) been working on a tablet app for Android, and a leaked version of it is available to download now.

It’s unclear when Twitter plans to release the final version of the app, but it’s clearly not in any rush to get it out of the door. Android Police actually caught a glimpse of the app running on the new Galaxy Note 10.1 at IFA in Berlin last week, but at the time, it wasn’t clear whether it was simply a mockup produced by Samsung.

But now we know for certain the app is in development, because you can now download a leaked APK of a fully functional version and install it. It works just fine, but there are some caveats. Firstly, it will replace the official Twitter app you already have installed, so you may need to big around in your settings and clear the app’s data if you have any issues.

Also, Android Police notes that while this app has been specifically developed for tablets, it works better on 10-inch devices. “It will work on smaller tablets like the Nexus 7, but the layout is a little wonky,” they say.
