Samsung appears to be gearing up to launch yet another threat against the iPad with two new slates that’ll boast mouthwatering 2560×1600 displays. One is expected to offer a 10-inch screen that’s just slightly bigger than the iPad’s 9.7-inch display, while the other will be a larger 12.2-inch model.

The leak comes from @Evleaks, a reliable source of information regarding upcoming devices. There isn’t too much to say about the devices at this point — most of the details are still unknown — but we do have some idea what Samsung is planning.

The 10-inch device, codenamed the SM-P600, will feature a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor. The larger model, codenamed the SM-P900, will have an eight-core Exynos 5 Octa processor. The larger model is expected to come with an S Pen, which would see it added to Samsung’s Galaxy Note family, but it’s unclear if the 10-inch unit would have the same functionality.

There’s no word on when these devices might be available, so all we can do now is wait. As soon as we hear more about them, we’ll update you.
