Imgur For Android Comes To Google Play, iOS Version Coming Soon

Imgur-Android

Imgur has today launched its official Android app via Google Play. The free download brings all of your favorite Imgur features to your mobile device, including the ability to browse viral images, comment and vote on images, and upload images directly from your smartphone.

Don’t worry, iOS users — Imgur is also coming to the App Store soon.

If you’re an Imgur user, then the new app is obviously a must-have. It promises to be the quickest and easiest way to enjoy Imgur on your smartphone, and it boasts a number of nifty features that make using the service all the more enjoyable, such as the ability to filter images by popularity, or by date. It even comes with a home screen widget.

Here’s a full list of the things Imgur can do on Android:

* Browse the most viral images on the Internet
* Comment and vote on images
* Upload straight from your phone
* Manage your account and albums
* Submit images directly to the Imgur gallery

The only downside to the app is that it’s ad-supported, which means you have to look at a nasty banner along the bottom of your display while you use it. There’s no “premium” paid upgrade to remove the ads, either, which is a bit of a bummer.

Nevertheless, the new app is still the best way to enjoy Imgur on Android, and those who have iOS devices will be pleased to know it’s also coming to the App Store “soon” — without the home screen widget, of course.
