HTC has confirmed that its new flagship smartphone, the HTC One, will begin its rollout in the United Kingdom, Germany, and Taiwan next week, before reaching the rest of Europe and the United States by the end of April.

The HTC One has been hit by component shortages that have delayed its rollout. A company executive confirmed earlier this week that HTC was no longer considered a “tier-one” company by some component suppliers. But it’s been working to get the device out as quickly as possible.

Today HTC released a statement to update fans on the One’s rollout schedule.

“HTC has seen unprecedented demand for and interest in the new HTC One, and the care taken to design and build it is evidenced in early reviews,” HTC told TechnoBuffalo.

“The new HTC One will roll out in the UK, Germany and Taiwan next week and across Europe, North America and most of Asia-Pacific before the end of April. We appreciate our customers’ patience, and believe that once they have the phone in their hands they will agree that it has been worth the wait.”

HTC will no doubt try its best to ensure the One is available in the U.S. before the Samsung Galaxy S4, which is likely to be the handset’s biggest competitor. The Galaxy S III was damaging to One X sales last year, and HTC will want to avoid losing potential customers by making them wait for their new smartphone.
