HTC One Now Available To Pre-Order In U.K., But Where’s The Red Model?

Following its much-anticipated unveiling on Tuesday, the HTC One is now available to pre-order in the U.K. from the official HTC Store and from a number of third-party providers. The SIM-free model is priced at £519.99 (approx. $803) with 32GB of internal storage, but the handset can be obtained for free on two-year contracts for £36 (approx. $56) per month.

It’s available in black and silver, but there’s no sign of the red model that HTC has been advertising on its website.

If you want to buy the HTC One SIM-free, you can do so direct from the official HTC Store. It’s currently available for pre-order at £519.99, and HTC promises that your handset will be delivered as soon as it’s in stock — though the company gives no indication when that might be. According to its announcement yesterday, it’s expected around mid-March.

Screen Shot 2013-02-20 at 07.57.33HTC does note, however, that there’s a chance pricing could go up before your handset is dispatched:

If the price stays the same or goes down, we’ll process your order and deliver your item as soon as it’s in stock. If the price rises, we’ll contact you again to see if you still want to go ahead with your order. No payment will be taken until your product is ready for despatch.

It’s worth noting, though, that this is unlikely to happen.

For those who want the HTC One on contract, you can get the handset free on two-year deals starting at £36 per month. It’s available to order from both Carphone Warehouse and Phones4U from today, with deals from Vodafone, Orange, T-Mobile, and EE.

Carphone Warehouse says it expects the One to be available for shipping on March 15, and both retailers are giving away a free pair of Beats by Dr. Dre headphones with all pre-orders.

Don’t get your hopes up about grabbing a red HTC One, though. Although the handset is advertised on HTC’s website, it appears it’s not available to order like the black and silver models are. HTC made no mention of the device during its announcement yesterday, either, so we had suspected that it might be coming later on.
