We now have answers as to why HTC Rezound users were able to unlock their device using the instruction from HTCdev.com. It appears any device launched after September 2011 is now unlockable and HTCdev will be updating the site accordingly. This is excellent news for the future of HTC and its customers.

It appears HTC is finally making good on its promise to unlock all future devices, and that’s the way it should be from here on out. This news could mean better ROM support for future HTC devices, and may even shift more developers to cater to HTC — rather than spend time dealing with manufacturers who are constantly trying to keep them out (then again they may enjoy the challenge). There you have it, mystery solved. Kudos to you HTC!
