By now, I’m sure you may have heard about how U.S. Customs is holding all of the HTC One X and EVO 4G LTE phones hostage as they investigate allegations over patent infringement stemming from a ruling Apple won against HTC back in December. The ban essentially went into effect in April of 2012, but what most of us don’t understand is why the investigation at Customs? HTC has already created a work around for the infringement and even responded back in December about it:

Google is well known for their awesome Easter Eggs and today’s will have you Starcraft faithful Zerging in your pants. If you do a Google search for “Zerg Rush” you’ll soon find yourself defending your page against the ravaging appetites of ominous Os. It’s a fun and geeky reference to the overwhelming scale of attack carried out by the mass-producing “Zerg” race from the popular RTS game Starcraft.

![Friday The 13th Strikes The Googleplex, Turns Building 44 Into Crystal Lake [Video]](http://cultofandroid.cultofmaccom.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/eclairsrevenge.jpg)
Friday the 13th has long been viewed as an unlucky day in America, so much so that one of America’s top grossing horror franchises was named after the superstitious day. While many people are quick to disregard such mumbo jumbo, I’m betting a few Google employees are now believers. It appears Friday the 13th has struck the Googleplex, and after some late night rain, has turned building 44 into Camp Crystal Lake. Rising from the depths of Crystal Lake is the left-for-dead Eclair, hellbent on enacting revenge upon his fellow fun-loving desserts. After a couple attempts to take out Gingerbread, Eclair is finally stopped by a few brave Google employees willing to get their feet wet. All-in-all it was a one-of-a-kind day at Google — let’s hope they never release a sequel.

![Is That A Condom In Your Pocket Or An Android Phone [Humor]](http://cultofandroid.cultofmaccom.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/condomorandroid.jpg)
With more than 100 Android devices out in the wild and more being manufactured every day, OEM’s are running out of clever names for their devices. Of course they could always use the highly technical Android Phone Name Generator to come up with the next magnificent mobile moniker, but that would be too easy. Instead, it appears manufacturers are looking to the condom industry for their tantalizing trade names.

![The Samsung Ad Campaign Continues: Gearing Up For The Next Big Thing [Video]](http://cultofandroid.cultofmaccom.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/samsungad.jpg)
Samsung continues with their ad campaign of portraying the competition as feeble cattle being led to slaughter. I’m starting to think they’re over-hyping this a bit, but considering they purchased a multi-million dollar 90 second spot during the Super Bowl, I’d say they can do pretty much anything they want (wish I had that kind of cash to blow).

A recent Match.com survey of Canadian smartphone users has revealed some interesting patterns surrounding one’s love life in regards to the mobile operating system they use. ![The Samsung Galaxy Tab Commercial You Didn’t See [Humor]](http://cultofandroid.cultofmaccom.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/galaxytab.jpg)
We all love our tech, and manufacturers spend millions of dollars making sure we get excited about it through commercial spots. Unfortunately, they don’t always hire the best voice-overs to dub these commercials, and we’re about to see what happens when Samsung goes out on a limb to hire a sailor for their latest Samsung’s “It’s Time To Tab” commerical. Be warned, this is not safe for work, or anywhere else that crude sailor mouthed language is prohibited.

Here’s another example of why having an open source environment void of lawyers encourages innovation. Here’s a developer who took a projector, Android, a Kinect, and turned it into a future UI (in alpha form of course). It’s actually pretty cool and reminds me a bit of the movie Minority Report.

I’m sure by now you’ve been subjected to the perpetual cat fight between Samsung and Apple. Just when I thought Samsung couldn’t taunt Apple any further they go ahead and launch another ad for their “The next big thing is already here” campaign. Their newest ad, which is set to smear your screen during the Super Bowl, has a corny catchphrase that I’m assuming Samsung hopes will go viral. Would you like to hear it? Of course you would — “We’ve Just Got Samsunged!” I kid you not, this is what one of the portrayed iFans blurts out after a Samsung Galaxy SII owner shows him that he has free turn by turn navigation built into his phone.
