Lenovo Introduces IdeaTab S2109 Tablet: 9.7-inch Screen And Android 4.0

Lenovo has introduced its latest tablet this morning in a Youtube video showing off the tablet’s features. The latest out of Lenovo is called the IdeaTab S2109, and while it doesn’t have the best name in the world, the tablet’s specs mixed with Android 4.0 make it a pretty nice offering. Check out the full specs:

The IdeaTab S2109 features a 9.7-inch 1024 x 768 IPS screen, which matches very close to the screen found in Apple’s first two generations of its iPad. While Retina quality graphics like the third-generation iPad would have been nice, Lenovo opted with the lesser.

As for the rest of the specs, the IdeaTab S2109 features a 1.3-megapixel front camera for video calls, microUSB port, micro HDMI port, four speaker design, and a microSD card slot. There’s no word on what type of processor is included, but Slashgear says it will feature a TI OMAP, though don’t say which version.

What’s really nice about Lenovo’s latest offering is that Android 4.0 is packaged at launch. A lot of OEMs have chosen to include Android 4.0 later in a software update. Lenovo also makes Google’s Play Store available on the tablet, along with its third-party app store.

We’ve reached out to Lenovo to try to get more information on launch date and pricing. Stay tuned!
