Sprint and HTC Announce The Evo 4G LTE, Available In Q2 For $199 [Breaking]

Sprint and HTC just announced the next Evo device on Sprint’s network, at an event in New York City. While the device was rumored to be called the HTC Evo One, it is officially called the Evo 4G LTE. The Evo 4G LTE is Sprint’s first LTE device, which boasts a “blazing fast processor” and the latest version of Ice Cream Sandwich and HTC’s Sense UI. Check out the full specs:

The Evo 4G LTE features a 4.7-inch HD display, Sprint’s new HD voice capabilities, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 16GB of internal storage, microSD slot, Beats audio, 2000mAh embedded battery, 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera with instant capture capability. The Evo 4G LTE also features HTC’s famous kickstand on the back of the device.

Sprint also talked about its new HD Voice network, which will be available towards the end of 2012. The HD Voice network allows for “more natural-sounding and less fatiguing voice quality and should reduce troublesome background noises,” Sprint said.

As you can tell the Evo 4G LTE looks fairly close to HTC’s One X, which is rolling out on AT&T soon.

Pre-orders for the new device begin on May 7th and will be priced at $199, on a two-year contract. The HTC Evo 4G LTE will then ship some time later in Q2.
