Motorola is so confident in the ShatterShield technology that makes its debut on the new Droid Turbo 2 that it covers the handset’s display against cracks and shattering for four years! But it’s easy to see why.

In the video below, the Droid Turbo 2 undergoes a real battering on the streets of New York City and survives without a single crack in its display.

CNN’s Samuel Burke put the Droid Turbo 2 through a series of tests that would render any other smartphone unusable. The device isn’t just dropped a whole bunch of times, but it’s also run over by a bike and trodden on by a horse.

And yet, its display remains intact at the end of it. Admittedly it does have some dents — that’s right, the display has dents! — as does the handset’s metal frame, but there isn’t a single crack or shatter that might make the device hard to use or in need of repair.

That’s incredibly impressive, if you ask me. I actually feel for those guys who make a living out of drop test videos, because the Droid Turbo 2 looks almost unbreakable. I only hope other smartphone manufacturers take note of ShatterShield.
