Google Street View is no longer hidden away inside Google Maps; it now has its very own app on Android and iOS, which offers immersive 360-degree imagery, and allows you to contribute your own.

“Find a great hiking trail, check out restaurant and hotel interiors, and snap and share your own photo spheres (360-degree panoramas) to Google Maps for others to explore and enjoy. All in one place,” Google says.

The Street View app has a gallery section that puts collections and content from Google Maps together with photo spheres shot by users all around the world. If you want to contribute your own, simply hit the camera button and you can shoot a photo sphere from within the Street View app.

You can also upload photo spheres shot with spherical camera accessories like the Rocoh Theta S and the iris360 from NCTech.

Street View replaces the existing Photo Sphere app on iOS, and the Street View from Google Maps app on Android, and it’s available today. Download it now from the App Store or Google Play by following the links below.
