The wait for the Nexus 9 is finally (almost!) over. Today’s the day you can finally buy the device from Google Play, and so long as you don’t hang around too long, your shiny new slate will be on its way to you — complete with Android 5.0 Lollipop — in just 1-2 days.

The Nexus 9 is the first Android device that ships with Lollipop pre-installed. In fact, it’s the only device you can get right now that’s supported by final — not developer preview — Lollipop software. But with the Nexus 9, you’re not just getting the latest version of Android; you’re also getting some terrific hardware.

Built by HTC, the Nexus 9 boasts an 8.9-inch Quad HD display with a super sharp 2048×1536 resolution, NVIDIA’s 64-bit Tegra K1 processor, 2GB of RAM, and an 8-megapixel camera. The device also boasts a large 6,700mAh battery that promises up to 30 days of standby time, and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera.

Google began taking Nexus 9 pre-orders back in October, but for those who didn’t get an order in on time, the device is now available for general sale through Google Play. We expect it to be a quick seller, though, so you might want to get your order in before that 1-2 day shipping estimate slips.

If you don’t want to wait that long to get your hands on the device, third-party retailers like Best Buy will also be offering it in-store today. Prices should be pretty much the same no matter where you get it, so that’s $399 for the 16GB model, and $479 for the 32GB model.
