There’s not a lot we don’t already know about the Galaxy S5 Active thanks to recent leaks, but the new device has today been made official and available to order by AT&T. It’s essentially an original Galaxy S5 packed into a more robust form factor — but it does boast a couple of new features that its flagship sibling doesn’t offer.

Last year’s Active carried the Galaxy S4 moniker, but it wasn’t exactly the same as the original device on the inside due to its slightly inferior display and camera. But that’s not the case for its successor. The new Galaxy S5 Active has almost everything the original Galaxy S5 does (it’s missing only the Finger Scanner) — plus a bit more.

Inside its new rugged shell — which is both shock- and water-resistant — the new Active carries a 5.1-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display, a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, and a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera. Beneath that camera sits the same LED flash and heart rate monitor you’ll find on the Galaxy S5.

The new Active runs the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system with Samsung’s latest version of TouchWiz, which includes features like Ultra Power Saving Mode.

So, what’s new with this device? Well, unlike the original Galaxy S5, the new Active has an “Active Key” — a new customizable button that sits above its volume rocker. It can be used for all sorts of things, including a camera shortcut and shutter button.

It also has a new Activity Zone, which combines S Health with other useful features, such as a flashlight, compass, stopwatch, and barometer. You can grab a sneak peek at Activity Zone in the AT&T video below — or check out those previous Active leaks for a closer look.

The Galaxy S5 Active is available starting today exclusively on AT&T.
