IMDb App Updated, Get It Now In The Android Market (No One Sent IMDb The Memo)

Apparently no one told IMDb about the whole Google Play switcheroo because they’re still pointing users to the Android Market. I don’t blame ’em, it’s hard to let go. Anywhoo, they have an update ready for all you movie fanatics who latch onto your IMDb app like it’s the Bible. The update, which brings the app to Version 2.6, adds the ability to watch movie trailers in HD as well as:

  • Added Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) compatibility
  • New streamlined navigation to help you find what you’re looking for faster
  • New trailer carousel featuring the latest trailers on the homepage
  • We greatly reduced the size of the app by removing the “Scan DVD” feature (based on customer feedback)
  • The “Hardware Controls: Take Pictures & Video” permission is no longer required

On top of the great new features, IMDb has squashed a few pesky bugs ensuring you’ll have the best app experience possible. If you’re interested in the IMDb app’s collection of over 2 million movie and TV titles as well as over 4 million celebrities, actors, actresses, directors and other crew members, be sure to visit the Google Play Store — not the Android Market.
