BaconReader, my favorite Reddit client for Android, has received a major update that brings a Material Design makeover and plenty of welcome bug fixes. If it wasn’t already your Reddit app of choice, it should be now.

Despite having to wait a while for a new look, BaconReader has been making up for its somewhat outdated design with a wonderfully easy to use interface that’s fast and clean. It lets you enjoy your favorite subreddits without getting in the way — and it’s free.

BaconReader is even better with version 5.0. The app no longer looks out of place on devices running Lollipop and above, and the many bug fixes included in this release make it even snappier and even more stable — particularly when loading images and videos.

There are a handful of other interface improvements throughout the app, including a revised reply icon, the ability to tap subreddit names in the title bar, and better fonts and colors. The app also has a new icon that’s a whole lot prettier than the old one.

BaconReader is totally free to download and use with ads. There’s also a Premium version priced at $2 that does not include ads.
