MotoActv App Gets Its First Update Tomorrow

The accompanying Android app for the MotoActv fitness band is set to get its first update tomorrow that will add a bunch of cool features. Most importantly it will add functionality for all Android devices featuring Android 2.1 and higher, when previously the app only worked on a few handsets. The app will also allow you to:

  • Plan workouts on your phone, launch them from your MOTOACTV and see your workout data back on your phone
  • Track progress of your personal fitness goals on your phone
  • Use your Android smartphone to set up Wi-Fi networks for your MOTOACTV

We’ll be on the lookout for the new app tomorrow, but as Droid Life points out, Motorola also may release an update that will please the golfers in the crowd. Once the update is rolled out, golfers will be able to install a golf GPS software to the MotoActv that will provide information for an array of courses. Users will have until April 16th to try it for free, but it will cost a subscription after.
