AT&T has suspended its rollout of the Android 5.1 Lollipop update for the original Moto X, almost two weeks after it began. The carrier insists it is “working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.”

It’s unclear at this point why the update was pulled, but we can only assume it broke some things and needs to be fixed. Owners are reporting in forums and on social networks that they’ve run into problems sending SMS messages, experienced poor battery life, and had their contacts deleted after updating.

If that’s why the update was pulled, however, it’s kind of worrying that it took AT&T two weeks (even longer if you take the soak test into account) to identify the problem and take action. But at least it’s doing something now, I suppose.

If you haven’t already updated your device, you’re stuck on KitKat for the time being, then — but that may well be a good thing; you’re better off with software that works while you wait for a stable Lollipop update.
