TiVo has today updated its Android app to finally add support for video streaming from your DVR to supported smartphones and tablets. The feature gives users the ability to begin watching live and recorded shows on their TV at home, and then continue enjoying them on their mobile devices when they leave the house.

Users can also stream content from services like Netflix, Hulu Plus, and Amazon Instant Video through the TiVo app. Video on-demand is also available in certain markets. All that’s required is a device running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean or above.

“Calling all Android users – the wait is finally over!” TiVo announced in a blog post today. “The Android streaming app is now available. With this update, users can stream most recorded and live shows directly to their Android mobile device to enjoy in or out of the home.”

The TiVo app for Android also delivers background information on cast and crew for all of your favorite shows, and acts as a remote for your TiVo Roamio DVR. You can download the latest version from Google Play now by following the link below.
