Sense 6 is on its way to the AT&T HTC One mini

HTC One mini owners on AT&T will finally get their Sense 6 upgrade this week, according to HTC America Product Manager Leigh Momii. The release will deliver HTC’s latest KitKat software and add new features like BlinkFeed, Sense TV, Zoe, and Motion Launch.

It will also make some design improvements, and give users the ability to apply themes and custom fonts. It essentially provides the One mini with almost exactly the same software that ships with its success, the One mini 2, and the flagship One M8 — albeit with a few minor restrictions due to its age and specifications.

This release should also include Google’s latest security patches from Android 4.4.4, though if it’s anything like the One M8’s update, it will be labeled Android 4.4.3 instead.

This is a major update for the One mini, then, and it may just be its last. It’s highly unlikely it will get another KitKat-based release unless any issues are introduced with this build, and HTC hasn’t yet confirmed whether this device will be treated to an Android L upgrade. It should be capable of running it, though, so keep your fingers crossed.
