Sprint’s YouTube channel prematurely promises HTC One E8

The HTC One E8, a cheaper, plastic alternative to the flagship One M8, is headed to Sprint. The carrier prematurely confirmed its imminent arrival with a video published on its official YouTube channel.

Aside from swapping aluminum for plastic and ditching the Duo Camera setup in an effort to become more affordable, the One E8 is essentially the same as the One M8. It’s powered by the same Snapdragon 801 processor, Adreno 330 graphics, and 2GB of RAM — and it has the same 5-inch 1080p display.

The One E8 also has front-facing BoomSound speakers, a 5-megapixel camera, 16GB of internal storage, and a microSD card slot. Taking the Duo Camera’s place on its back is a regular 13-megapixel shooter with an f/2.2 aperture and an LED flash.

Like the One M8, the One E8 is compatible with HTC’s Dot View case, and it runs the same Sense 6 user interface. It made its debut in China back in early June, and based on the video below, it’s about to touch down in the U.S. on Sprint. We don’t have a release date or a price yet, but we expect that to change imminently.
