Samsung’s latest ‘wall huggers’ ad mocks iPhone owners

After mocking iPhone users waiting for a big-screen version of the Apple handset in its previous ad, Samsung is back with another spot mocking them as “wall huggers.”

In the ad, Samsung boasts about the long battery life of the Galaxy S5. In Ultra Power Saving mode, the phone can last for more than a day with only a 10 percent battery charge. The company pokes fun at iPhone users by showing them clustered near all the available power sockets at the airport and hugging the wall patiently waiting for their phones to charge.

The company also boasts about the interchangeable battery on its flagship handset, which allows users to go from 0 percent to 100 percent in less than a minute.

Samsung will be putting up posters of its new ads at wall outlets with quotes like “So you have the power to be anywhere but here” at the John F. Kennedy, O’Hare and Midway airports. If successful, the company might also expand its marketing campaign to other airports.

While iPhone lovers might not approve of it, I must say that Samsung’s latest ad has been done very smartly.
