Amazon has slashed $130 off its 32GB 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HDX for today only, bringing its price tag down from $429 to just $299 with special offers. The tasty discount, which makes the 32GB device $20 cheaper than the 16GB model, appears to be available only to customers based in the U.S. at this time.

You can also get $130 off the 32GB Kindle Fire HDX without special offers, which means you’ll pay $314 instead of $444. Strangely, the same discount does not apply to the 16GB or 64GB models — though those are currently available with $60 off.

Aside from the storage differences, all 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HDX tablets have an HD display with a 2560×1600 resolution — in addition to a 2.2GHz quad-core processor, Adreno 330 graphics, 2GB of RAM, and an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera. They also come with a “Mayday” button that provides technical support 24 hours a day, 365 days a year; and stereo speakers.

As I mentioned above, this discount is a one-day only thing, so prices will return to normal tomorrow. If you’ve been eyeing up a Kindle Fire HDX 8.9, then, now is the time to buy one.
