BeyondPod gets a welcome redesign and new features
BeyondPod, one of the most popular podcast managers for Android, now looks better than ever before. A new beta release rolled out this week brings a long overdue design overhaul and a number of welcome new features..
The new version of BeyondPod looks immensely better than it did before. Its interface was beginning to get a little long in the tooth, and although BeyondPod has always been a great app, it wasn’t quite as pretty as rivals like Pocket Casts. That’s no longer the case.
Its new design is much more modern, and better suits Android’s most recent design guidelines. It’s clean and it’s flat and it’s easy to read and navigate. It also comes with a bunch of new features and improvements, including better organization for your podcasts, a new fullscreen player with support for visualizations, and support for multiple SmartPlay lists.
There’s also a new “car mode” player that makes it easier to navigate your playlists while you’re behind the wheel.
The new BeyondPod isn’t available from Google Play yet, however. It’s still in beta, so you’ll need to download the APK from the BeyondPod website if you want to try it out early. Bear in mind that like all beta releases, it may not be completely stable. It is recommended that you backup your feeds and settings in the current BeyondPod release before upgrading.
