Beats Music Is Now More Functional Than Ever

It’s safe to say that Beats Music wasn’t as popular as the consumer electronics company would have liked. Upon its release it was welcomed to a ton of one star reviews on both Android and iOS, mainly due to the application’s lack of functionality and fluidity. But it now looks like Beats have taken the large amount of user feedback onboard and is pushing out a rather significant update for the application via the Play Store.

Subscribers of the service who own an Android-powered smartphone or tablet will now be able to link/unlink their Twitter and Facebook accounts to share music that they’re currently listening to, download tracks at a faster rate to listen to Offline, find friends that use Beats Music via Facebook and enjoy the brand new Beats Music widget, which enables them to play music directly from their home screen. As you’d expect, the update also brings a plethora of bug fixes and speed optimizations all designed to make the service as stable as possible.

The full changelog, together with the short,  juicy note that the Beats team also provided, can be seen below:

You asked for it, and we listened!

  • Brand new sparkling widget
  • Find Your Friends — find and follow your Facebook friends on Beats Music
  • Improved Facebook and Twitter account management
  • Thousands of new tracks available in The Sentence
  • Offline Mode & Downloading improvements
  • Music Player performance fixes and much, much more!

Our favorite feature in this upgrade here at Cult of Android is definitely the updated Offline Mode. Throughout our time using the latest version of this application, we’ve noticed that songs download at a much faster rate and are significantly easier to find once they’ve been stored on a device.

Obviously, we can’t decide on the quality of this update — that’s your personal opinion. But we’d say that this is a pretty good effort on Beats’ front and if you’re a subscriber to the service, we strongly advise you to download and install the update, which can be done by hitting the Play Store link below.
