HTC One In Europe Getting A Second Android 4.4 Update With The Wi-Fi Fix

HTC One

HTC One smartphones in Europe are now receiving the much awaited Android 4.4.2 update after the first update was pulled by the manufacturer some weeks ago citing difficulties with the ROM. The change log shows that the update brings support for additional WiFi routers, indicating that the initial rollout had issues with WiFi that needed fixing.

This update comes with the version number 4.19.401.11 and doesn’t feature any other changes. If you didn’t receive the KitKat update when it was rolled out initially, this will be your first glimpse of the new version which means you’ll notice some differences with functionality and the user interface.

Some users in the UK and neighboring regions are already claiming to have received the update, so it should finish rolling out across Europe by the end of today. If you haven’t received the notification yet, make sure you head over to Settings-About phone-Software updates and try looking for an update there. The update is over 205MB in size, so make sure you’re on an unlimited connection before downloading it.
